Lead ads and Instant Forms
Part 3 set GreenDesk's campaign objective to Leads. This part builds the actual mechanism that objective depends on — an Instant Form, Meta's native lead-capture format that never requires leaving the app at all.
Why Instant Forms exist, and their real tradeoff
A standard ad linking to an external landing page (the Google Ads series' entire approach) requires a full page load on a potentially slow mobile connection, plus a real navigation step away from the app — every one of those is a point where a real person can drop off before converting. An Instant Form opens directly within Facebook or Instagram, pre-filled with information Meta already has on file for that person (name, email, phone), removing both the page load and most of the manual typing. The real tradeoff: a lead captured this frictionlessly, without ever visiting the actual website, has typically done less independent research and self-qualification than one who clicked through, browsed, and then deliberately filled out a form — a genuine quality-versus-quantity consideration, not a strictly better option in every case.
Building GreenDesk's actual form

Intro text: "Book a 15-minute demo and see how remote teams stay aligned
without another status meeting."
Questions:
- Full name (prefill enabled)
- Work email (prefill enabled)
- Company size (custom dropdown: 1-10, 11-50, 51-200, 200+)
Privacy policy link: required, linking to GreenDesk's real policy
Completion screen: "Thanks — we'll reach out within one business day
to schedule your demo."Three fields total — deliberately minimal, mirroring the exact same low-friction principle the Google Ads series applied to GreenDesk's landing-page form: fewer required fields consistently produces a higher completion rate. "Company size" is the one qualifying question worth keeping, since it directly helps GreenDesk's sales team triage and prioritize incoming leads without adding much real friction to complete.
Prefill: convenience with a real quality cost
Prefilled fields make submission close to a two-tap action — genuinely higher completion rates, and genuinely easier for someone to submit with less real intent or attention behind it, sometimes producing a lead who barely registered what they were agreeing to. Testing both a form with prefill enabled and one requiring active input, and comparing actual lead quality (not just volume) once those leads move through GreenDesk's sales process, is the real way to resolve this tradeoff for a specific business rather than assuming an answer in advance.
Connecting submissions to a CRM
Real integration path: Meta Lead Ads → CRM (via a native integration,
Zapier, or a scheduled export) → sales team notified within minutesA lead sitting unclaimed in Meta's own Ads Manager interface for days is a genuinely wasted opportunity — response speed correlates directly with actual conversion rate in B2B sales, and connecting Instant Form submissions to GreenDesk's CRM automatically, rather than relying on someone manually checking Ads Manager, is what makes the speed-to-lead advantage real rather than theoretical.
Closing the loop, same principle as Google Ads' offline conversions
1. Lead submits via Instant Form
2. CRM captures it with the Meta lead ID
3. Weeks later, if the lead closes as a paying customer, that outcome is
uploaded back to Meta as an offline conversionExactly the same principle the Google Ads series covered for GreenDesk directly: a form submission alone is a weak, early-funnel signal — bidding and delivery optimization become genuinely more valuable once they can eventually learn from which specific leads actually closed, not just which ones filled out a form.
Treating every Instant Form submission as an equally qualified lead, with no downstream tracking of which ones actually convert to real customers. Without closing that loop back to Meta, the delivery system has no way to learn the difference between a lead who genuinely fits GreenDesk's ideal customer and one who tapped through a prefilled form with little real interest — it optimizes purely toward volume, at whatever quality that volume happens to be.
